CAREERS AT TWINSS

The work is human.
The standard is high.

Direct Support Professionals shape the quality, safety, and possibilities of a person’s everyday life. At TWINSS, that responsibility is taken seriously—and so are the people who accept it.

Good people deserve investment.

We are looking for thoughtful, reliable, capable people who pay attention, communicate well, respect individual choice, and understand that good support requires more than simply being present.

Experience matters. Character, judgment, curiosity, and a willingness to learn matter too.

We build small teams around individual people. We consider personality, communication style, interests, experience, training needs, and whether the match makes sense for everyone involved.

What we expect

  • Reliability and honest communication
  • Respect for each person’s rights, choices, privacy, and dignity
  • Patience without condescension
  • Attention to health, safety, and changes in usual patterns
  • Active participation in training and professional development
  • Accurate documentation and responsible follow-through
  • Healthy professional boundaries
  • A willingness to listen, adapt, and ask questions

What you can expect

  • Clear expectations and direct communication
  • Thoughtful matching with the person you will support
  • Training connected to your actual responsibilities
  • Opportunities to build skills and demonstrate competency
  • Leadership that understands direct-support work
  • A small-team environment where your work is visible and valued
  • Respect for the knowledge you develop by working closely with the person
This work is not always easy. It is important, skilled, deeply human work—and it deserves to be treated that way.

OUR HIRING PROCESS

The right qualifications matter. So does the right match.

01

Apply

Tell us about your experience, availability, interests, strengths, and the kind of support work you are interested in doing.

02

Talk with us

Selected applicants are invited to discuss the role, TWINSS, and the responsibilities of supporting another person well.

03

Explore the match

We consider skills, personality, communication style, availability, and interests alongside the person’s needs and preferences.

04

Prepare

Employment is contingent upon required interviews, references, screenings, credentials, orientation, training, and competency requirements.

Sometimes the right person finds us before the right opportunity does.

If we believe an applicant could be a strong future addition but do not currently have an appropriate match, we may—with permission—retain their information and reconnect when a suitable opportunity becomes available.

We hire thoughtfully because consistency begins before the first shift.
